How to write an interview magnet CV!!
Don’t be WORDY
- Write short statements
- Use bullet points, makes it easier for the reader to digest information
- Start all bullet points with ACTION VERBS
- You have 2 -pages and 750 to deliver your message
ONLY write what is RELEVANT
- The job description will give you clues re: what is important
- Cut all irrelevant information e.g., job content, qualifications, training
- Cut industry jargon from unrelated roles
- Cut content from early career roles (assuming not relevant)
WOW the READER
- You MUST write impactful content
- Showcase any successes or achievements – work, education, extracurricular
- Showcase what you change or improve
- Ensure achievements are quantifiable
Hit the reader HARD, HIT the reader early
- You MUST get key information to the forefront
- DON’T make the reader have to hunt for it
- Be creative! You might have to bend the rules to achieve this!!
